Summary: She screams at the rain for a little piece of sympathy. Sophie, the things I do for you.

As the rain made that pitter-patter against

the stony hard ground of rocks (were they

weathered from the many times

that rain chose to wet them? Or

when

our steps chose to trot them?) Did

anyone ever care of the ground that

they treaded? Did anyone ever care about

that? Or were they all too caught up in their lives?

(You

were like that. You were too caught up to care

about the rocks you stepped on. And the rain-like tears

we shed for those actions. Oh, God! Your

actions!) Did you once ever think about the lies you

told

me? The problems you put me through?

Every time I thought I lost you, have you thought

about that? Your hotheaded risks that made

cry a storm of tears? My transparent tears make pitter-patter

on the rocks again. And I’m reminded of that day

(That horrid day!) When you chose to leave

to gain more power. Power! You shouldn’t

thank

him for an opportunity like that. There is no

power with him. How is there power from a

man so heartless and cruel and undeserving?

You should have chosen another path,

you

should have chosen a path where I was

there. I know I sound selfish but

I could have ran away with you.

We could have done this together!

Did

you consider that option when I told you?

With your hands in your pockets, your indigo

shoes over this rocky (--and weathered?) path,

and your bangs covering your pale face?

You

really don’t think, I’m that shallow hearted

do you? I would have sacrificed myself for you

(and I know I have) a million times.

I would sacrifice it for the man I knew I loved.

Really,

I would. How much more convincing would it take,

for you to come home again?! Would you

appreciate me screaming for you, my heart lodged

in my throat? Screaming your name, as if I

mean

to stop this rain. “Stop raining!” I screech

just for you. “Why won’t you listen to me?”

I yell it out so loud that the birds nested in the trees

fly away and my throat is close to bleeding. How was

to convince you? More screaming? I know

you can’t hear it. It’s fruitless for wherever you

are. But somehow, my heart still hurts (it falls

down from my throat and back to my chest). Since

love

is not what I should be feeling for you. Even though

you’re miles (and miles and miles) away from home

(Or do I mean from me?) You’re training, hours and hours

(With that man, for that man, against that man.) And all

you

can think about is power! More Power! What about

the rain-like tears we’ve cried for you? What about the old

rocky (weathered!) ground you treaded open? And I know

you don’t reminisce about the pitter-patter of the rain

too!
